Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ Tablespoon sugar
  • 1 ½ Tablespoon butter margarine, softened
  • 1 ½ Tablespoon dry milk
  • 1 ½ teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 3 cups bread flour

Instructions

  • Be sure that bread spinner hook is in place in bottom of bread machine pan.
  • Add all ingredients in order listed from top to bottom. Be sure that the salt and the yeast do not come in contact. Sprinkle the yeast on top of the flour, last.
  • Set the machine to bake a 1 and ½ or 1.5 lb. loaf at your desired color level, if available.
  • Push start.
  • When bread is finished, let rest for 5 minutes and carefully remove from the machine and let cool on bread rack. Remove the spinner if it is attached to the loaf.

Notes

You may substitute shortening or vegetable oil for the butter.
